STEP 1: Get Prequalified

As you begin your search for a new home, it’s important to know where to start. The best thing to do is to get prequalified for a mortgage so that you know exactly how much home you can afford. Our preferred lender is more than happy to walk you through this process. You will need to provide information on your credit, income, assets and debts in order to determine the mortgage amount you can comfortably afford. Once you’re prequalified, it’s time to move on to the next step of your home search.

STEP 2: Choose your new home

Now that you know your budget, it’s time to start searching for your new home. You may want to begin by finding certain parts of town you want to live in, how many bedrooms and bathrooms you need and what type of amenities are nearby. If you have children or plan to have some in the future, another important factor to take into consideration are the schools in the area. Beyond that, you will want to determine your timeline for moving into your new home. If you’re in a situation where you need to move-in quickly, our move-in ready homes are ready when you are. But, if you have a little more time on your hands, consider building your home with us. You can choose your lot and some of the features in your home to add a more personal touch. At the end of the day, we want to be a part of opening the door to your new home.

STEP 3: Sign a purchase agreement

Once you find your new home, you’ll need to sign a purchase agreement. Our dedicated team of New Home Specialists are here to help you every step of the way. They’ll make sure to cover the terms of the agreement and will be there to answer any questions until closing day.

STEP 4: Loan application

After the purchase agreement is executed, the loan application process begins. Our preferred lender will work with you to gather all the necessary documentation to make sure that your home purchase is as smooth as possible.

STEP 5: Close on your new home

As the mortgage loan process nears completion, you will receive a timeline of when you can close on your new home. Once the mortgage process is complete, the lender will send all the documentation to our closing attorney so they can administer the closing. After you close, it’s time to open the door to your new home!
